Tony Mowbray
In 1998 Tony Mowbray and his crew on board the "Solo Globe Traveller" were part of the doomed Sydney to Hobart yacht race. Facing cyclonic winds and giant waves the yacht was knocked down and 6 men died in the struggle. Tony Mowbray, however, surivived and within four months of his dramatic fight for life Tony shrugged off the physical and mental wounds to get back on his boat and reclaim his lifelong dream of sailing solo around the world.
In 2000/2001 his "Power of Commitment" helped him become the fastest Australian to sail solo, non-stop and unassisted around the world. Only months after his 181-day adventure Tony and the same team from the 1998 Sydney to Hobart race finally crossed the finish line of the 2001 Sydney to Hobart - finishing off what they had started in 1998.
Tony will be sharing his story and "Power of Commitment" with you. After a brilliant two course lunch, Tony will join the group and recount his stirring tale of courage and determination.
Relaying to the group through media and speech his experience of that fateful trip and how that then inspired him to repeat and finish the journey with the same boat and crew four years later. As well as this Tony will, in his own charismatic way, go into details about his solo round the world non-stop yachting charter and the many adventures he had along the way.
This emotional account will inspire and encourage all who attend. Messages can be tailored to suit your conference needs and meet your business objectives. Participants will not only be motivated but about leadership, achievement, improvisation, successful team work, goal setting and the importance of a positive attitude to achieve successful results.
After Tony's address the group will then be given their safety briefing before beginning the highlight of the day - a three hour yacht charter on Sydney Harbour with the man himself calling the shots. Individuals will have the chance to have as much input as they like in a series of races around the bay or can just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride with Tony moving from boat to boat and delivering his trademark jaunts.
