Raft Race

Will your team sink like the Titanic or power through the water to victory like Wild Oats XI crossing the Bass Strait. In this adrenalin charged race, teams must combine strategy and team-work to come through ahead of the rest.

The Challenge:

In the BeChallenged raft race teams must first compete in order to earn the components with which to build their raft. This build up phase of the day is designed to involve activities which have been chosen to focus on the specific objectives of the day.

During the initial challenges teams will compete for first pick of the various raft components. This part of the day requires the team to pre-plan their raft and tactics, with teams having to decide and prioritise which of the various pieces of equipment best suits their game plan. This element of the BeChallenged Raft Regatta sets it apart from competitors in that the raft race is only an element of the day and there are multiple lead up team building activities that are selected to achieve specific client objectives.

Once these battles have been fought and won, each team must use the supplies that they have earned to build their own raft. Speed, safety and seaworthiness are key - the raft must be strong enough to carry two team members and the pride of the team to victory. Once the rafts have been constructed the teams will compete in the finale, a paddle for line honours in the raft race regatta. This final race is always a source of plenty of laughs and gives teams a chance to develop team spirit as they barrack for the crew of their raft.
