The Challenger “Learning through experience” Crossing The Spit Recently we saw two young adventurers, James Castrission & Justin Jones, who against all odds paddled from the East Coast of Australia to New Plymouth on the New Zealand coastline. By the time the adventurers had finished they had paddled some 3318km over 62 days, 1221km more than expected, experiencing sharks, fatigue, bad weather and the unnerving feeling of going backwards. James and Justin were not the best kayakers out there, nor were they the best sponsorship negotiators, weather forecasters, electrical engineers, logistic managers, marine doctors or designers. Their key to crossing the Tasman was their ability to form and manage a team of the best practitioners in their respective fields. BeChallenged is pleased to announce that we have begun a new program that gives participants a glimpse into the journey Justin and James experienced. The program, Crossing the Spit, has a focus on teamwork and planning, both of which were the key to allowing these two young men achieve their dream.

Feature Program - Human Scrabble Recently a client approached us with a brief to design a program which would enable their organisaion of 140 to get to know each other better, celebrate success and pace the way for 2008. At an individual, team and organisational level the focus was on encapsulating the ethos of the business and creatvely projecting the company values. Human Scrabble was born! With Human Scrabble the day is broken into two parts.The first part revolves around a series of team building activities allowing teams to earn giant scrabble pieces which they will later use to spell out a central theme or idea, for example - The Sum of Us. Teams are then charged with the task of using the letters they have earned in the morning's team activities to spell out words/ phrases and take a series of photographs around a scenic location. Photos could include highest Scrabble score, longest word or phrase or creative photos using the Scrabble letters, local props and team members. The finish of Human Scrabble is the greatest part of the program. Teams return with Scrabble pieces and cameras. Each team's creative images are uploaded and projected to the entire group. Human Scrabble culminates in a creative shared experience which encapsulates the core message of the day. Human Scrabble is a program which is: Can be strongly linked to goals, outcomes or purpose; Encourages creative thinking; Fun and interactive and Suitable for large or small groups (25 people or more).
