Graham Winters's influential book tackles the silo's that evidently exist within separate business divisions, departments and teams. As a three time chief psychologist for the Australian Olympic Team, designer and developer of high performance leadership programs and author of High Performance Leadership, Graham Winter's has earned the right to define 'Team'. His fun and engaging practical model, unlocks the power of teamwork across boundaries, empowering organisations to realise the possibilities that come from thinking and acting as one team.
Graham simplistic model to creating united leadership, set superordinate goals, encouraging cross boundary partnerships and create success for the whole organisation, is identified through five practises.
1) Share the big picture; communicating a sense of purpose and direction
2) Share the reality; creating a feedback environment, so people learn and grow
3) Share the air; engaging or involving people to tap the ideas and energy of everyone
4) Share the load; collaborating and supporting, while playing their individual parts
5) Share the wins and losses; seeking success together
Think one team is a fantastic way of engaging everyone within any organisation or team to think and act in a way that will create a better future. A must read book, that I have already recommended, for anyone who wants his or her organisation to perform to its highest level.
