Oporto - Wethrill Park - Amazing Race

Summary:

After working with the Oporto management team in August 2008 another opportunity arouse to work with an individual Oporto franchise when Oporto management ran a fantastic competition between franchises where the winning team would receive a team building event paid for by Oporto management.

 

When Wetherill Park were announced the winners it wasn't too long before the program Amazing Race was chosen. With program designer Andy from BeChallenged on the case, Wetherill Park had their very own Amazing Race tailored for them.

 

On a lovely Sunday in November, lead facilitator Oliver met with the team in the middle of Hyde Park Sydney. A quick briefing, organising of the teams (with each team taking on the identity of another country - Jamaica - Argentina - Canada - Guyana) and the completion of their first activity, 'Handcuffs', teams were off and racing.

 

As teams completed mental and physical activities they gained their next location clue and moved closer to the secret location of the 'Amazing Race' finishing mat. Transport on the day came in the form of walking, train or water taxi, making for a very fun and exciting race. With the lead changing continually throughout, the race was wide open as the water taxi docked for the last time in 'The Rocks', Sydney, it was the team from Canada that arrived first on the mat, to be crowned the Oporto, Wetherill Park Amazing Race Champions.

 

All teams completed the race with a great level of competition and commitment, as teams cooled down with a refreshing drink, presentations were made. The BeChallenged facilitators wrapped up for the afternoon and the Wetherill Park team were left to eat, drink and be merry, telling a few stories about what was or what could have been.

 

Oporto where a highly fun group to work with, it was a pleasure helping them to achieve a day of team focus, bonding, communication and fun!
