Review:

When I was handed this book I was genuinely excited as I am currently completely hung up on the concept of DISC profiling and how this can be applied to team building. Starting the book I must admit I was a little skeptical as it seemed a little 'lovey dovey' for my liking, however having completed it there were definitely some aspects I can pull out of it.

 

Basically this book goes about profiling us based on four categories, similar to DISC. These categories are Popular Sanguine, Perfect Melancholy, Powerful Choleric and Peaceful Phlegmatic each with their own defining characteristics. While not completely putting each of us into one of these separate categories it does state that in most situations we revert back to our most dominant personality type.

 

The examples used in the book are based mostly on couples and while at first this frustrated me I started to see the benefit as they were easy to relate to and made sense. The names of each category are also a little intense and I believe they might go a little too far by insisting each of us fits almost directly into one of their sections. I did enjoy the book, however I do believe that DISC is still a simpler and more proficient tool for personality profiling.
